About Symposium

The first International Symposium "Communication in the Millennium" took place at University of Texas at Austin between the dates 19 - 21 February 2003. 

The second one washosted by Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication. It took  place between dates 17 - 19 March 2004. 

The third of the symposium was hosted by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Elon University in May 11 - 13, 2005. 

The fourth one was hosted by Anadolu University, Eskisehir in June 14 - 16, 2006. 

The fifth symposium was hosted by Indiana University at Bloomington in May 16 - 18, 2007.

The international symposium is rotating between the two countries and the sixth one's meeting date is May 14 - 16, 2008. 

The major aim of the symposium is to establish and maintain an international multidisciplinary forum for the development of innovative dialogue between Turkish and American  scholars. 

Secondly, it is hoped that it would provide basis for discussing the basic issue. 

And with this dialogue, future projects and comparative studies will be developed. 

The symposium aims to foster and promote work that is intended to make a constructive contribution to the communication field and its development. 

The symposium welcomes work of scholars and graduate students in the communication field.
